Despite the cold and rainy weather, fall commencement ceremonies across the area made students happy and parents’ proud Saturday night.

"Nothing could mess up this for me at all." said graduate Stephanie Webb

The University of West Alabama held their fall ceremony in the Pruitt Gym on the Livingston campus early Saturday morning.

"I've been wanting a long time it’s been a long time coming feels like I've achieved something," said graduate David Fletcher.

Students seemed not to mind the ongoing controversy surrounding the schools probation and Board of Trustees. Alabama Congressman Artur Davis was the guest speaker.

Meanwhile, Meridian Community College held their fall ceremony Saturday afternoon.

Close to 200 hundred students walked across the state at Northcrest Baptist Church. Of the 200 the graduates, half received diplomas in the technical field.
