Elderly Woman Drowns

The drowning of an elderly Wayne County resident Sunday has been ruled accidental by authorities.

Sheriff Stein Farrior said Femae Ellis,80, had wandered away from a relative's home Sunday afternoon. A deputy found her about 45 minutes later, in the Chickasawhay River, where she apparently fell.

Farrior said Ellis suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
