Judges Chosen Randomly

Ousted Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore wants his day before a judicial ethics appeals panel, but all eight of his former colleagues on the state's highest bench stepped away from the hearing Monday.

Instead, judges were chosen randomly from a list of nearly 100 retired judges and attorneys to hear Moore's complaint.

"We believe that by selecting from a pool of retired judges, there's a wealth of experience, there's a wealth of ability, and that they will be able to deliver what the governor is looking for, which is fairness and justice for Chief Justice Moore," said Troy King, Gov. Riley's attorney.

Moore was removed from office on Nov. 13 for refusing to obey a court order to remove the Ten Commandments monument.
