The Temple Theatre ballroom looked more like a dressing room as forty young girls prepared to take the stage with members of the Moscow Ballet for a one night performance of "The Nutcracker".
"They're a little excited, but we are very ready," said Gena Sharman early Friday.
The crew began setting up at 8:00 a.m., erecting lights, a backdrop and a special floor made especially for the ballerinas.
"I love my job. It's great. It’s hard being away from your family, but I get to see the whole United States and I get paid for it," said Amelia Phelps, who travels with one of the production's two casts, to more than seventy cities.
The production sold out ten days after it was announced. Organizers
say they hope the huge success will inspire more events like it.
