Arrangements Set for Newton County Soldier
Newton County, Miss. Arrangements have been finalized for the funeral of Army SGT Matthew Ingram, who died Thursday in Afghanistan.

Arrangements have been finalized for the funeral of Army Sgt. Matthew Ingram, 25, who died last week during combat in Kunar Province, Afghanistan.
The funeral is Saturday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church, three miles south of Hickory, Miss., on Highway 503. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to
2 p.m.
The Department of Defense says Sgt. Ingram died from wounds suffered Thursday when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. The blast occurred while his unit was under small-arms fire from enemy forces.
Ingram was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
Ingram grew up in east Mississippi and attended Newton County High School.
He is survived by his wife, Holly, their 10-month-old baby and his extended family.
