Mississippi Congressman Ronnie Shows has scheduled a meeting to discuss WorldCom. The event will be held in Jackson at the Agriculture and Forestry Museum.. Shows said Wednesday that WorldCom's success was a source of pride for Mississippi, but many have now been hurt.

"Already we have 17,000 employees in Mississippi that's going to lose their jobs--not in Mississippi but across the country, and many more happening," said Shows. "So I'm hosting a town meeting to discuss how it happened, what we can do, and hear from the people stricken by the WorldCom disaster."

The meeting at the Agriculture and Forestry Museum starts at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12. It's open to the public.
