History was made in Winston County on Friday. The county swore in its first black sheriff.
Fifty seven year old Walter Coburn was sworn in Friday morning along with other county officials.
Despite the big day, it was overshadowed by the contested election. The results of the November 4th election are still being contested by Coburn's opponents. Results show independent candidate Ronnie Flake trailed Coburn by a mere 24 votes.
Officials tell Newscenter 11 the case could to trial in May.
