Republican Governor-elect Haley Barbour pledges to put aside partisanship and work with all state lawmakers.
Speaking at a legislative luncheon in Jackson on the eve of his inauguration, Barbour said it's not about politics now that the election's over.
"We are all in this together," Barbour said.
Barbour made a name for himself as a Washington lobbyist and as Republican National Committee chairman in the mid-1990s. He defeated Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, a Democrat, in November.
WTOK-TV will bring you Barbour's inaugural ceremony Tuesday beginning at 11:20 a.m. from the steps of the Capitol. The Republican is to take his oath of office at 12 noon.
WTOK News Director John Johnson will moderate the broadcast, made possible by Mississippi Public Broadcasting. He'll be joined by political commentator Sid Salter.
