Missisippian to be New RNC Treasurer

The Republican National Committee said Saturday that a Mississippian will serve as its next treasurer.

Mike Retzer, a Greenville businessman, was one of two Mississippi delegates on the national committee.

Retzer previously served as the state Republican chairman before accepting the delegate position in May 2001. Marc Racicot, the RNC's chairman, said, "based upon (Retzer's) party and professional experience, I am confident that Mike will serve the RNC well as our treasurer."

Retzer will replace outgoing treasurer Robert Duncan, who will become the committee's general counsel.
