Recently the Neshoba County Board of supervisors ordered a stop to Friday night dances at the Longino Senior Citizens Center. Officials say too many younger people were attending the parties and therefore pushing out some senior citizens.
"It's a senior citizen's building. It's designated for the senior citizens and from the boards stance, we want it to serve the senior citizens!" says board president James Young. "We don't want 45-year-olds and 30-year-olds out there bumping out people who are 50 or 60-years-old out of their own building. So, this is why we put a stop to it to get reorganized."
The board is scheduled to reconsider its order at its first meeting in February.
