There's been another delay in repairing the dam at Bonita Lakes Park.
Meridian's chief administrative officer, Ken Storms, said Wednesday that the city is trying to save taxpayers money by talking to the corps of engineers about financial help for the project.
"It appears that we can get money from the Corps of Engineers to the tune of the Corps of Engineers pays 75 percent. We match with 25 percent. It would really be nice to be able to fund that entire project for only 25 percent of the cost, instead of 100 percent of the cost. Even if that means we have to delay the project for another three months," said Storms.
The estimated cost of repairs for the dam is $400,000.
