The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposes $91,000 in fines be levied against Fort James Operating Company for failure to protect workers killed in a mishap last January.
It happened at the Pennington, Alabama plant when contract workers in the chemical wash area of the plant were overcome by hydrogen sulfide gas.
Two died, and 8 were injured.
The company has 15 days to contest the fines.
