Alabama U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby says he is pleased with the appointment of Attorney Gen. Bill Pryor to the 11th Circuit of Appeals.
President Bush used a recess appointment on Friday to put Pryor on the Atlanta based court, bypassing democratic opposition.
"I've known the Attorney General for a long time. I was the one that introduced him to the judiciary committee when he came up for appointment. I supported him, I think this is the right thing to do," said Shelby a Republican.
President Bush used the same technique to place Mississippi's Charles Pickering to the fifth circuit appeals, just last month.
