Interested in looking ahead to what 2004 will bring in the economy? That was the topic of Community Bank's economic and market forecast luncheon Thursday.
The guest speaker was Stacey Wall, President and CEO of Pinnacle Trust Company.
"We just kind of give an outlook for what we see in the coming year in the stock and bond market," Wall said.
Wall said the general population tends to make too much of negative market news, such as the Dow falling, and he said it also makes too much of bright market news, such as the Dow Jones approaching 11,000 again, as it is currently.
In making his predictions for 2004, Wall said it's unlikely that the federal government will hike interest rates during an election year.
