The Coast Guard closed a 10-mile stretch of the Mississippi River for three hours Sunday after a towboat hit the Old Greenville Bridge and six rock barges broke free.
Petty Officer Casey J. Ranel says in a news release that all six barges were recovered, nobody was hurt and no pollution was reported.
Ranel says the incident is being investigated.
The Coast Guard did say whether the bridge was damaged or how many barges the vessel "C.B. Ford" had in tow at 5:20 a.m., when it hit the bridge.
A call to an answering machine was not immediately answered.
