The Mississippi State Senate has passed a bill that is intended to crack down on Medicaid abusers.
The proposal would require strict annual evaluations to determine whether people receiving Medicaid benefits are financially qualified to do so.
Supporters say the bill could save the state more than $114 million a year.
The bill now moves to the House for consideration.
