Mississippi will be part of the presidential primaries Tuesday.
While every county has a democratic primary, not all have contested republican races.
However, Clarke County and part of Jasper County, which are in the Fourth Congressional District, do have GOP candidates running for congressman against incumbent democrat Gene Taylor.
State Rep. Mikae Lott and Long Beach businessmen, Karl Mertz and Steve McCaleb, are vying for the republican nomination March 9.
The Justice Department also announced it will have federal observers in Kemper, Neshoba, Newton, Winston and Jones Counties Tuesday, March 9. The civil rights division will have personnel in Noxubee County as well to monitor compliance with the Voting Rights Act.
Polls will be open in every Mississippi county from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
