Statistics show that at some point, one out of every three workers is injured on the job.
To help address this issue, rush hospital conducted a "lunch and learn" program for local industries.
"It's so important to educate the employers about injuries in the workplace, so that we can better take care of the employees that are actually hurt," said Andie Ortlepp, who organized the educational event. "It's very common. You know 75 percent of the workplace is injured at some point and time during the years. So, it's a very big part of the industry."
More than a hundred local safety managers and industry nurses took part in the "lunch and learn" program.
