The Alabama Senate voted unanimously to confirm the appointments of Thomas Ballow of Montgomery, Margaret Lovett of Tuscumbia, and John Northcutt of Demopolis to the board of trustees for the University of West Alabama.

Riley's two other appointees have been delayed by the Senate Confirmations Committee.

Committee Chairman E.B. McClain said all of Riley's appointees are white, and the committee would like to see more diversity among the appointees.

The delayed appointments were Foy Halstead Tatum of Pike Road and Ken Tucker of Demopolis.

A spokesman for the governor says there is no agreement to substitute one of the names with a new appointee.
