Meridian fire and rescue units responded to a structure fire Wednesday night at 207 47th Avenue. It happened around 7:45 p.m.
Fifteen firefighters and support vehicles were on the scene with Metro Ambulance and Meridian police.
"I'm not sure whether anybody was at home at the time of the fire. First engine on the scene reported heavy fire showing," said Battalion Chief Howard Gibson. "Once we got on the scene we sized it up, appears that the fire started in the front part of the house."
Neighbors said someone did live at the address.
No one was injured. The wood frame structure was heavily damaged and the cause is under investigation.
