Lauderdale County's E-911 commission wants to abandon its 20-year-old "microwave" system and put in a high speed line to its new tower.
Dale Purvis, president of Comsouth, told supervisors that, in his opinion, they have little choice.
"We highly recommend the county and 911 commission go forward with some other type of means to connect these two, the dispatch center and the tower site," Purvis said. "And the equipment we have today, we cannot buy parts for it."
The new equipment would carry a two year warranty, followed by a three-year service agreement.
