One family is without a home Wednesday after a morning house fire completely destroyed a house on Highway 19, north of Meridian.
Luckily, no one was home at the time of the fire. When crews arrived on the scene, the structure was fully involved.
"We usually go on a morning walk. I was about to stay home when something told me not to. God didn't want me to, so I jumped up and went walking to the Texaco about a mile and a half up the street. When we got back the house was up in flames," said resident Patricia Pipkin.
The house was being rented to the family.
Authorities say it appears the fire started in the center of the house and spread to the attic. However, the cause is still under investigation.
