A Ku Klux Klan leader who won the right to march in York, Alabama Friday has decided not hold the event.
The York City Council had passed an ordinance barring marching in masks except for Halloween and Mardi Gras. But a federal judge ruled on Monday that the ordinance is unconstitutional.
Klan leader Jordan Gollub of Carthage said he cancelled the march because of a lack of time to prepare for it.
York Mayor Carolyn Gosa said she's thankful the march was cancelled because she was concerned it would set back race relations in the west Alabama town.
The KKK was issued a permit to march in Butler, Alabama, on Friday.
