Two episodes of American Chopper, a reality television show that airs on TLC, will feature Meridian and a custom motorcycle.

"For reasons that I don't particularly understand, musicians and bikes have this incredible affinity. Almost every musician is or would like to be a biker," said Hartley Peavey, owner of Peavey Electronics.

And for that reason, Orange County Choppers designed a Peavey bike and Peavey created an O.C.C. guitar. The crew from American Chopper visited Meridian late last year to tape part of a segment for the show.

"They actually came down here where they had some funny things where Mikey broke a guitar which was kind of an interesting thing. They pulled a joke on me. I didn't know he was going to do it. I didn't know whether to apologize to him or slap him," said Peavey.

The motorcycle features several Peavey logos, Hartley Peavey's signature, microphone handlebars and a working guitar amplifier. But none of those are Hartley Peavey's favorite features of the bike. He likes the attention that will come to the Queen City because of the chopper.

"The name Meridian is going to be pretty loudly trumpeted on their program and a lot of people in the world that maybe have never heard of Meridian, Mississippi will," said Peavey.

American Chopper is seen in more than 100 countries. The episodes featuring Peavey will air April 12th and 19th on TLC. On April 21st, the chopper will be on display at Bonita Lakes Mall.
