Suspects Charged in Two Fatal Shootings
Meridian, Miss. Two men are in custody in Meridian, charged with capital murder and armed robbery of Jerome Hearn. Another is charged with killing Stanley Mason.

This is the reason I left Meridian because of how BIAS and IGNORANT most people are here...There is no evidence pointing to Ricky Thomas but the word or Fred Moore...now am I wrong or was Fred's fingerprints all over the car...hmmm...and Ricky Thomas's were where?? Exactly...now I could go in more on this but I'm not all I have to say is to the person below who said the Mary Thomas made a fool of herself...you are making a fool or yourself...now I hate to say this but you right along with every other BIAS person in Meridian is ignorant and needs to talk what you know...and in case you don't know what bias is...it's taking the word of others instead of finding facts cause you too lazy to go do research of your own...but all I have left to say is FREE RICKY THOMAS YOUR FAMILY LOVES YOU AND REMEMBER YOU WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH AND JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL!!

well off the web site might be a idea worth taking as seeing the victim/ pity type post on here shrugs. . now have this corrupt MPD ....... what it became like this in the short time the new chief took over.. then have others posting how he was set up.. mmm sounds like that woman that was nailed for the horse abuse... the judge/DA/ EMAR didn't know what they were seeing with the horses posting all her stories here acting like other people posting.. as far as the family goes defending this.. is he is guilty it will show.. and their actions on defending him will show that is the very reason this happened... everyone caused this to happen to my child.. he/she is a victim ... fact you are responsible for your own actions,,, when this happened the ones killed were innocent people .. short time found out other wise as we will find out with the ones charged.

Frederick Moore is guilty and he know he is. The only reason he is crying like a little baby now is because he might get the death penalty for capital murder and he is scared. He really should have thought about that before he murdered Jerome Hearn. Angela please quit defending your brother everyone knows he did it. I heard from a source he was plotting this for a while.

They need to go through Jerome's phone records and see who the last person he talked to before he died was. If this was a drug deal gone bad I am sure that he must have talked to this person on the phone moments before he got killed. Also fingerprints, the bullet(unless the gun was stolen) are all ways of identifying the killer.

just for the record and ones saying MPD must have hard evidence to charge; wrong! all they have is a supposedly "eye witness" account; but they didn't tell the news or public that this "eye witness" tried to recant his statement saying he was intoxicated at the time of questioning but Captain Sharpe and detectives threatened him with numerous charges if he changed his statement! This person went so far as to go back to the police station and recant his statement but for fear of being charged himself left! This man is sick and hasn't been able to sleep b/c he knows his actions has an innocent man in jail! Time will tell all; if they are so sure why no physical evidence? hmmmm......something to think about! MPD say they want the truth but for embarassment sake they threaten someone trying to come forth with the truth!

Well if ricky isnt part of it then am sure there is more then enough proof on this and all will be settled.. but i have doubts on things when those that say they know post all over and the arrest says another.. cant see law enforcement here like in Cali.. time tells all ...

Everyone is talking about what Jerome did, he wasn't the first male to sale drugs.. No matter what Jerome did no one deserves to die. Only God has the power to take lives..Jerome was a great person and he will be missed. Ms. Phyllis i will apologize for some of the heartless people putting all the negative things on here. SHE LOST A SON ! We all have done things our parents didn't approve of. he raised Jerome the best she could .. it was his choice to do what he did, but he didn't deserve to die.

RICKY THOMAS is not guilty! how could he be when everybody in his family can account for him being at home at the time of the murder? You all might be saying "you don't know either" but I do because I am a family member if Ricky and I too know that he couldn't have been involved with the murder. We are truly sorry for the Hearn family and their loss and we do believe that justice should be served for his death, but Ricky is not the one. People, stop saying all of these negatiive things about him and you really don't know him. It broke my heart to get on here and see people sayinG "he deserves to rot in jail" and "maybe he should get the lethal injection" this is our son, brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew and he doesn't deserve any of that. WE LOVE YOU RICKY AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DAY THAT YOU'RE SET FREE FROM THIS MESS.

to 4 Real 2...... let's not pull the race card in here talking bout who can bring the drugs in here. there are plenty of wealthy blacks that can buy planes, boats, cars, and whatever else to bring drugs into this country. There are many BLACK AND WHITE people in the drug game. The difference is that mostly the blacks are on the streets killing the heck out of each other for some little amount of money. Look around in Meridian and other areas. Heck you see the big rims and find cars but the person driving it has no JOB. I guess the dang car was drooped off in their lap. WAKE UP WAKE UP. The young man did not have to die no matter what he was selling

I will say this and let it be, we dnt knw what happen but knw that the story was a lie.... They made him say it was those boys. They will have there day in court and he will tell that it was a lie. Tonya , he was known for the drug dealings as well as the rest of them that are in the middle of this mess.. but who is at fault for this the parents that say he/she will change say nothing but on their knees or those that say there's the door until you change and make sure they are turned in for breaking the law.. there is enough money to get them in college free GED so no excuse there .. but there is laws of fact what you sow in time you will reap even if you walk away from it it will come back to you in time. it is the fool that defends the foolish it is the wise that says nothing and lets the fool & foolish fall to their own demise.

My heart goes out to all the families that are involved. They all are losing someone dear to them even if others don't realize it. ANGELA,respectfully, please don't read anymore of these blogs because some individuals don't have sympathy for others in situations like this. You will have your chance to defend your brother at the right time in the right place, so don't waste your energy. That makes a lot of sense...As for Angela my heart goes to you and ur family because that's ur baby bro and u love him and when a love one goes to jail the whole family goes to jail ppl don't realize that. And for ur mom to have one child in jail practicaly for his whole life I know it hurt so everyone let up on her and try to look @ things from her standpoint. For the Hearn and Mosley family I know ur also hurting dispite all ;that's her son and that's Jaiwanna bro and these ppl emotions are involved so even tho I disagree with their lifestyle and it totally goes against what I stand for I will show respect to all the parties

The police officers don't set bond. A judge does. Ernest Mosley's bond was first set at $250,000. It was reduced by the judge after a hearing was held. Ernest Mosley is charged with murder, not capital murder, a killing occurring along with another crime, armed robbery. These are distinguished from each other legally. A capital crime is considered to be a worse offense. Judges almost 100% of the time deny bond of any kind for capital murder in this state. The $1 million bond for armed robbery was making a statement about the severity of the crime, because Moore and Thomas will be sitting in jail until their trials, unless something happens to dismiss their charges. Mosley can get out of jail if bond is posted for him. Two people are dead, but the capital offense is what makes these cases so different. Someone in an earlier post had asked about this issue.

I think that those two young men will not be in jail at this time if they did not do anything. As a parent I will support my child on somethings, but if I know he was not at home at that time I will be questioning he/her to see whats up. I believe in the truth and the truth will set you free.So to the parents incourage our childern to tell the truth. Sitting here at my desk wondering HOW IN THE HELL can one say that you "KNOW" a person didnt do something because you "THINK" you know this person? Where you there? YES they all in deed had a history with MPD and street rep's but is does that mean because J-Rome occupation was what it was he deserved to DIE? You've got to be _____ kidding me. My brother beats on women and we know this... if he is ever picked up for eventually killing one i'm not going to DARE uphold him as being innocent until he's proven to be and YES simply because he has a history of that. OMG! People please remember that Jermone Hearn WAS a known drug dealer, that have destoryed many families and friends. The two other guys need to have their day in court. If they did the crime they only took 1 life. Jermone has taken many. Jerome family needs to stop talking about how great he was, he was a drug murder. When was the last time Jermone held a job where he paid taxes and obtain a w-2 form. This stuff makes me sick to see so many people lifes get ruined.

Guess he ready to go home and tell the boys what it's like being out for a couple months.....Because that's where he will spend the rest of his life...And can somebody tell me why Ernest bond was significally lower than the the other guys??? Why because he murder a black man and it wasn't drug related because that's what's of concern of Bilbo Mitchel only Drug charges..I hope Jaiwanna push for the maxium sentence for her brother's killer...

R.I.P Jerome and Lil Mason...My prayers are with these families. People stop all this madness. RIP Jerome and Ricky!! The MDP has got to do better. At the same time we as the people must do better. Meridian has to do better. There are no jobs and nothing else for these young men to do besides hustle. People judge them and say they are not good people because of their lifestyle and that's not the case. Young men realize life is too short for trying to get fast money and nice cars. Meridian is definitely too small for any so-called "Big Timer" stop being greedy get your bread leave and try to find a better life. In a city like Meridian where everybody knows everybody you have no privacy and that leaves the door open for the young and hungry to try to take what you have. Children need to stop having children. The problem start at home with teen parents raising their child to curse because they think it's cute but your child can't read. Stop teaching the kids it's cool to be bad and disrespectful. All if this foolishness starts right at home. It's time for a change people.

To the Hearn family with great sympathy and heart felt wishes that Jerome has gone with God and is one of his angels in heaven.No matter what.... God had a plan for him. I know both the victim and the suspects. What happen was sad but point the finger at the parents. None of these guys would work in a pie factory. The Hearn, Moore,and Thomas family knew what type of life their children was living. They have did nothing about it. They set back and enjoyed the fruits of the labor. All these guys sell drugs. Please people stop pointing your fingers. Parents look in the mirror at your self and figure out what you did wrong raising these guys. All these comments are awful.In the end only GOD can judge the acused and accept the victim into heaven.

These guys are guilty until proven innocence. Hearn murder was premeditated. Mosley deserves life as well with the other assailants. MS will never changed. The citizens of Meridian should have exercised their right to have voted. The mayor of Meridian appointed an unloyal chief to run the MPD. How can a person committ such an horrible act and bond reduce to 40,000 only in MS? Drug dealers get life in prison. Murders can walk away in 5 years. Where is the Justice people? Try this in Texas

I didn't know the men who were killed. I don't know the men who are in jail for this. But I do know that if someone said they saw what happened, he'll have to come into court and face the people he's accusing. That is the legal right that Moore, Thomas, and Mosley have. He can't just point a finger of blame and slink away.

i have read most of the comments posted and they all seem to say the two charged didn't do it; well guess what somebody did it...and it seems you all know who did it, be brave step forward and say who did it, if you really love these two men...otherwise shut up and let the police go off what EVIDENCE they have, u can't just charge someone if there isn't HARD EVIDENCE to say they did it.

Something must be wrong with you because when has Fred ever respected somebody, and this was not a drug deal this was jealousy and hate.He has not change and never will. He must like going to jail because he just recently got out and now he's going back FOR LIFE!!!!! Their is no one else to look for they have them in jail so get over thinkinh that he is innocent, NOTTT.

I take no sides but there are only two places a drug dealer ends up. The guys were in the wrong because they all knew each other. A drug deal gone bad is what it really was. I feel bad for the hearns family but Jerome has a street rep just as the other guys. it is what it is. stop judging people and face the fact that when you are a so called "BIG BOY" in the drug game this is the risk you take. When you are addicted to money these are the things that you would do. Fred and Rick should be punished but everyone thinks the victim was a law abiding citizen. RIP Jerome and good luck Fed and Rick.

Im not a big fan of MPD myself. In fact, I will agree by saying that they suck and do not do their jobs at top notch ability. With that said, I would hope that if they have someone of interest for whatever reason then its obvious that they know something that we dont.

This is absolutely crazy. It is soooo sad for all the families involved... it is not just for anyone to die in this manner but to have all this sorrow for Hearn is crazy; he was in a drug deal gone wrong and fully knew the consequences of a life like such. I do however, pray that he is with GOD. On the other hand, personally knowing the Moore family; it too is sad because I am sure beyond doubt Fred did not do this crime or at least I pray not. Fred is a great respectful person and was raised by two loving parents. Yes, he has made some wrong choices; however, he was well on his way to being an upholding citizen and for the crimes he previously played a role in; he has indeed served his time, rather paid his debt to MS. Stop judging people based on their past and learn this person for the present and future possibilities. This is nothing more than a mere set-up for all the parties involved and I agree with a previous comment; I hope the person(s) who really did this comes forward!

I know people want to blame someone for these murders and anyone charged is better than no one charged in MPD eyes! It's truly sad; justice has not been served when there is NO PHYSICAL evidence only the lies of a half way mental person that receives monthly checks for his mental disability! It may not be today or tomorrow; it may even take til March of 2010 when it's presented to the grand jury but Frederick Moore and Ricky Thomas WILL see freedom again b/c they are innocent! There is no physical evidence b/c they are barking up the wrong tree! The person they need to investigate is the one that gave them the fabricated story and put them on the wild goose chase! so to the Moore family and Thomas family; stay prayed up; joy comes in the morning! I pray for the Hearn family and that the true culprits be found.........

Angela-don't worry about trying to defend your brother, if he is innocent, the truth will come out sooner or later. Just trust God and let Him work things out. I know the families of everyone involved in this mess and I am so sad. I hope this is, as Sissy said on t.v., a wake up call for the young black males of Meridian. They've got to stop the violence before the entire AA race becomes extinct. This is how the white man plans to destroy us! He'sgiving our young brothers the drugs to sell and use He then sits back and watch them destroy themselves by killing each over his money. The sad thing is, we're falling into his trap and we're too blind to see it. We need to start a Take Our Young Men Back community march soon. Ricky Thomas does not deserve this. He does not deserve to rot in jail. I know that him being detained may make "Finally" feel better, but he is INNOCENT and I will fight for him to the end!

How do we know if these people are innocent are not? Just because they say they are innocent doesn't mean anything, but vice versa applies too. Just to say that these people are innocent without having an earthly clue is wrong. All I will say is this, they questioned these men, and immediately placed them in cuffs. It's very possible that these three said something in those interoggations that either A: shows guilt, or B: says that they may not have committed the crimes, but knows exactly who did? I would bet that if they didn't commit these murders, that they know who did. But I'll wait until evidence is revealed before I even attempt to say that they are guilty or innocent.

this is truly sad that mpd has no evidence on these young men, with alibis, and they are railroading them anyway. i've always heard our judicial system sucks...today was truly an example of just how bad. i basically do not feel safe in that someone can say i did something and then i am charged? something is definitely wrong here...i guess we all need to start keeping journals of what we are doing at every hour of the day since i can't even remember WHAT i had for breakfast this morning let alone WHAT TIME...i pray that the real perpetrator will come foward and his spirit can't rest til he does so that these INNOCENT men are set free.

It's sad that we as people are so brainwashed and ignorant of the judicial system that i have read many comments saying "if these guys charged are innocent to prove it in court" how backwards is that but so sad and true! The judicial systems is supposed to deem every man innocent until PROVEN GUILTY but it actually is the other way around.
