Volunteers Honored

As part of the annual Keep America Beautiful Volunteer Luncheon on Tuesday, dozens of volunteers for the group were honored. Organizers say volunteers are needed for the organization to operate properly.

"Keep America Beautiful is a service organization of course which basically teaches and has a goal of litter prevention and environmental education. Without volunteers helping us to promote that to the public, we would not be able to be in business. We wouldn't operate! So, it's just important to show them how much we appreciate them,” says KAB Coordinator, Beverly Knox.

More than 80 volunteers were on hand for the luncheon. Anyone interested in volunteering with Meridian's Keep America Beautiful program can call (601) 485-1996.
