The Hamasa Temple Shriners have been raising money this week through the organization's Annual Vidalia Onion Sale.
"It helps raise funds for our general operating system," said Shriner Raymond Busby.
Part of those funds goes to help young people like Lindsey McDaniel, who was paralyzed in a traffic crash last December. The Hamasa Temple Shrine assists by providing transportation.
"The Shriners have been very supportive of me. They have sent me to Chicago to the Shriner's Hospital," said McDaniel. "And every time I have to go for a check up, they have sent me up there."
Recovering now from her injuries, Lindsey said she's thankful for the support of the Shriners.
"They have just been so wonderful and checking up on me and making sure I have everything that I've needed since my accident. And it's just been an inspiration," McDaniel said.
