Members of the Sigma Beta organization listened to a motivational speaker at the Council of Governments in Meridian. William P. McClelland spoke about his past as a gang member and a drug dealer.
He talked to the audience about how he changed from that life style to one of earning an honest living. His main message was to earn a living through hard work.
"But I tell them, you can go get your dollar the same way I got mine: believe in god and get a hard earning job and earn it. I don't sell no drugs, the drug I sell you don't have to pay for." said McClelland. "Christ paid for it over 2000 years ago. So that's why the drug I sell is free. You don't need no fire, you don't need no rolled up paper to roll it up in. You don't need all of that because Christ has enough of that, that you can even imagine."
McClelland told members of Sigma Beta to follow through with their education and avoid involvement with the wrong crowds.

i think that is good how you all are teaching the kids that there are other ways that are honest to make money but one thing the parents can teach this though life the right things to do but as we seems to realize once we get grown or think we are grown we do things that our parents tell us not to do or to do we have to use our head to know whats wrong and whats right
