The result of a yearlong investigation; raids began around 5:45 Wednesday morning and involved six different agencies on the federal, state and local levels. They took place at two houses, which are located less than a mile away on adjourning streets.
Arrested was 30-year-old Rodney Boler and 31-year-old Spencer Jordan.
"We feel that they are really significant," says Philadelphia Police Chief David Edwards. "This investigation spanned over three states. Also, these gentlemen are probably responsible for 60 to 70 percent of the drugs coming into the city of Philadelphia. These people are responsible for recruiting street level people to sell drugs. There are several people who sale drugs here and it is traced back to them."
Inside Boler's house at 390 on Jericho Road in Philadelphia investigators say a relatively amount of drugs and cash was confiscated and Boler's wife was taken into custody. Investigators say a probe in the case also continues into Alabama and Georgia. In fact, they say another related arrest was also made Wednesday morning in Atlanta.
Meanwhile, Boler and Jordan both face federal drug charges and could face anywhere from 10 to 20 years in prison, something which Chief Edwards says he thinks they will receive.
"The case is rock solid. They've already been indicted by a federal grand jury. So, we feel this is a rock solid case."
Chief Edwards says more arrests are possible.
