Police in Alabma say several students and at least one adult were hit yesterday when a driver lost control of her car. Authorities say at least nine students and an adult were hit by a ca5r near Forest Hills Middle School in Fairfield, Alabama. Police say the driver, a 67-year old woman, apparently lost control of her car and hit the group of people just as school was getting out.

One witness recalls the accident.

"And the lady she was coming down, she was coming down ahh, down the road and she was swerved. And then the principal, Mr. Williams, was like this ain't no swerve thing. She was on the telephone. And then I was like can y'll get out the way, and then when I said get out the way. And then they said this where all the children had, had gotten ran over. And then I had started crying," described Shakira Threadford.

The driver who lost control of her car was not injured. Emergency crews say at least one student and one adult were seriously injured. Police continue to treat the scene of the incident as a crime scene until it can be determined what caused the driver to crash.

I read the witness statement on here and the AP could have done a little bit better rather than the word for word of this lady.thank you for your comments maam but the paper could have rewrote it just a little so as to not sound so alabamian,
