Auto Dealer Dies at 88

A.T. Van Veckhoven established new South Ford in Meridian, which is run by his son, Milburn.

The Elder Van Veckhoven, who was part of the Iwo Jima invasion in World War II, died late Monday, a few days after collapsing from a heart attack while playing golf. He was 82.

Van Veckhoven is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann, four sons and three daughters.
