Police in Demopolis have made two arrests in a case that dates back to February 2008.
Darius Powell, 18, and 24-year-old Jeffery Williams are charged with murder in the death of Randy Warren, 38.
Officials say Warren was found dead at 507 North Ash Street. Police say
the motive was drugs. A $5,000 reward from the governor's office helped crack the case and lead to the arrests.
'I do feel that that was very pivotal in bringing about the leads that ultimately led to the arrests of these suspects," said Marengo County district attorney, Greg Griggers.
The victim's son, Ranquan Warren, said he had doubted that any arrest would be made.
Family members say Warren was shot at least four times. For now, investigators say no other arrests are expected but the investigation is ongoing.
The case against Powell and Williams is expected to go before a grand jury in February 2010. If found guilty, both could face from 10 years to life in prison.

It does my heart good to know that those responsible for Randy's death have been taken into custody. They should be held accountable for their actions. Finally his family can have closure and know that their loved one will receive justice. Although they will forever miss him, at least they know the ones responsible for this horrendous crime will be punished accordingly. RIP RANDY!!! GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN!!!
In a situation like this it's sad that a life was taken. On the other hand, the CAUSE of it concerns me. When will we learn better behavior? Its almost like a person is asking for when they involve themselves with drug activity. HOWEVER, WITH THAT SAID........For the ones that are in custody, I say give them life in prison. They had their two yrs (whatever it was) of freedom already.
Im soooooooo beyond happy now the family have closure & peace. To my uncle Randy D. Warren RIP, I love & miss u dearly.
