U.S. Congressmen Chip Pickering and Ronnie Shows will debate each other at the Neshoba County Fair on Thursday, Aug. 1.
The debate will begin at 2 p.m. at Founder's Square. WTOK-TV will be there for the face-off debate between the two major party candidates vying for Mississippi's 3rd District Congressional seat and telecast the event at 7 p.m. Thursday night.
Shows and Pickering, currently representing the 4th and 3rd Districts respectively, are running in the new 3rd District, drawn because the state's population did not grow enough to hold on to all five seats in Congress.
Other candidates vying for the 3rd District seat are:
- Jim Giles, Independent
- Carroll Grantham, Reform Party
- Brad McDonald, Libertarian
