A Mississippi Army National Guard soldier from Philadelphia was among those killed in Iraq over the weekend.
Sgt. Joshua Ladd died Saturday in Mosul, Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade hit his vehicle.
Ladd attended high school at Neshoba Central. He was a member of the 367th Maintenance Company, which was called up for active duty in September 2003.
The 21-year-old was an avenger system repairman and had volunteered for service with the 367th soon after it was mobilized last year.
