The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation Board heard encouraging news from our neighboring state Thursday.

EMBDC President Wade Jones told them Thursday of a visit from an Alabama developer who toured the proposed Lauderdale County Industrial Park this week and apparently was impressed.

"He said Alabama and Mississippi need to work together because really you're the future of West Alabama, " said Jones. "He said we need to work with you, our state, our governor and our economic development officials need to work with East Central Mississippi to help develop your sites."

The developer told Jones Meridian and Lauderdale County is where jobs can be created that will provide opportunities to the people of west Alabama as well.
