Wood was still smoldering Friday, as investigators continued working to find the cause of a late night fire at Hankins Lumber in Quitman.
"When we got there it was fully involved," Quitman volunteer firefighter Buddy Long.
As many as eight fire departments helped battle the flames, but with so much wood, all firefighters could do was contain it. The fire will likely smolder several days.
How the fire started is still unclear. The damage was isolated to one lumber shed.
Also, nearly one year ago the plant caught on fire.
"Mills can go fast," said Quitman Mayor Tommy Blackburn. "Our volunteers and the others who helped did a good job."
Company officials refused to comment, so there's no way to know how much damage was done and whether any jobs will be lost.
