Firefighters responded to a residence on Wright-Spur Road Friday morning. They found a mobile home on fire with someone dead inside.
An autopsy has been ordered to verify the person's identity and the cause of death.
Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell said it's a suspicious fire.
"We received a call this morning around 11:00, a suspicious call, a 9-1-1 hang-up. At that point, a neighbor came home and did verify that the trailer was on fire," Mitchell said. "Fire units were dispatched. At that point and time, once they got there and got the fire under control, they did notice that there is a body inside the trailer. Due to there is a death, we called the state fire marshal."
Toomsuba volunteer fire fighters, Metro Ambulance and the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department responded.
