The American Automobile Association said it expects 30.9 million travelers will drive 50 miles or more by passenger vehicle this Memorial Day.
That's actually up 3.4 percent from 2003.
"The impact of the price of gas on auto travel is relatively small in consideration of total vacation costs," said Sandra Hughes of AAA.
AAA reports the price of gas is up 25 cents per gallon from the previous record and is 50 cents higher than this time last year.
