The Mississippi Department of Transportation is closing the Interstate 20 rest areas at Forest and Morton for renovation.

A construction project for site improvements began Dec. 1 at Morton. It will remain closed for an indefinite period of time.

The Forest rest area will be closed starting Jan. 4. The anticipated completion date is July 2010.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly through the area, and be on the lookout for construction crews.
