More federal dollars are coming to Clarke County, and they are greatly needed in Clarke County, with unemployment still above 20 percent.

On top of losing 900 jobs at Burlington industries, Clarke County has lost jobs with Quitman Knitting Mills and A and B Component Parts. While there have been unemployment benefits, many are still with out jobs.

Tuesday Cong. Chip Pickering announced $3.2 million in government spending for new job training.

"Workforce training is key to help us recruit new business for the area," said Pickering.

The money will not be just for Clarke County, but help displaced workers in Lauderdale, Wayne, Jasper Counties and Choctaw County, Alabama.

All of the training will be based in Quitman and designed to put people in new jobs.

To take part in the program you must go through the Quitman Win Job Center.
