Lots of people are in the spirit of giving during this Christmas week, reaching out to help the less fortunate.

A group of employees at NAS Meridian made a big donation to Wesley House.

Members of Local 18, mechanics at the base, donated 78 $10.00 Winn Dixie gift cards to the organization Wednesday afternoon.

"Our members decided to give back to the community that helped us during the base closure rounds," said Chuck Wheeler, president.

The cards will be given out to people who qualify for assistance through the Wesley House.
