Financial officers at Mississippi's eight public universities made their cases Monday for tuition increases to members of the state College Board.
The university officials say a primary reason tuition must go up is to provide the money necessary for salary increases.
Information gathered at Monday's hearing will be presented at the board's next regular meeting.
