JSU Coach Killed

Students, alumni, and faculty of Jackson State University are mourning the tragic death of play-by play man Bob Carpenter.

The veteran of Tiger Radio Network was killed Friday night in Greenwood. Authorities say he was allegedly shot to death just before 11:00 Friday night by his father, Walter Carpenter.

Walter Carpenter has been taken into custody and is being held without bond.

Carpenter was employed by TeleSouth Communications and was the voice of the tigers for more than two decades. He was 46 years old.
