District 43 Elects New Representative

Former State Rep. Bobby Moody resigned from the House on May 7 to take a job as deputy director of the state Medicaid program.

Gregory, 58, a farmer and former teacher and administrator in Winston County, defeated Carolyn Hampton, who works in special education in Louisville public schools, by a 4,036 to 2,181 margin in unofficial totals.

The special election originally drew 16 candidates. The term expires at the end of 2007.
