This year's Juneteenth Festival started off on a high note Friday and ended the same way on Saturday.

Nearly 1,500 young people came out for hip hop night on Friday.

On Saturday the streets were packed for the carnival and that night the featured band Lakeside performed.

"It has been a wonderful day and we are having a good time," said Louis Sutton, Juneteeth Festival Organizer.

Juneteenth is the celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation delivered in 1865 on June 19th in Galveston, Texas.
