Meridian Man Dies at USM Alumni Function

University of Southern Mississippi Police and the Forrest County Coroner's Office are investigating the death of a former Southern Miss student and Meridian native who was found unconscious outside a campus fraternity house on Friday night.

Twenty-five-year-old Samuel N. Broadhead, was attending an alumni reunion at the Sigma Nu fraternity house when he was found unconscious around 11:30 p.m. Friday evening.

He was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced dead. Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy in Jackson to determine the cause of death.

A spokesman for Sigma Nu fraternity says fraternity members are cooperating fully with the investigation.
