Elliott: MCC Growing

Meridian Community College president, Dr. Scott Elliott, said last fall's record enrollment of 4200 students is a sign of positive growth for MCC despite cutbacks in funding.

"It's not enough just to enroll students. You have got to help them persist in meeting their goals so we are doing both," Elliott said. "And we are very proud of that. We have had a lot of accomplishments this last school year."

This was the fifth straight year for record enrollment and for the number of graduates at MCC.

Elliott said 85 percent of those graduates stay in east Mississippi.
