Jessica showed the class how clouds are formed and explained how to track a thunderstorm.

Severe weather safety precautions were also covered.

The young scientists were studying the weather so Jessica used several experiments to help the kids understand the backgrounds behind thunder, lightning, and tornadoes.

"We learned about tornadoes and hurricanes and how big they are and how dangerous they can be," said student Ashley Carlisle. "We also learned about funnels and the stages they are in."

We are now beginning to enter the spring severe weather season, when a majority of the tornadoes in this area happen.
