Lauderdale County supervisors Tuesday approved the director's request for an assistant.
"Some of the qualifications would be that this person would be in charge of is the maintenance and the set up and take down of whatever needs to be done during or after an event," said director Rob Seal. "It will allow for me to be able to go out and promote our facility and spend more time in that particular area instead of just being at the facility, you know, 24/7."
The salary for the position is just over $21,000 a year. Applications are now being accepted. For more information call the Agri-Center at (601) 482-8498.
Lauderdale County supervisors also welcomed a new county administrator Tuesday.
Tony Green, 43, was appointed to the position last month. Previously, he worked as an auditor for the state. So far, Green said it has been a relatively smooth transition.
"Everything is in place. It's just a matter of fine tuning various aspects of it, but I have certain ideas that I've seen. However, overall it's in good shape."
Green is a native of Jasper County.
