Ross Collins Child Care Center collected canned goods to share with LOVE's Kitchen in Meridian.
The staff said the fourteen children were eager to collect everything they could to share with others.
According to director, Dianna Hughes, it's vital for children to learn about giving at a young age.
"I think it's important to instill in small children, it's important to give to the community and not just have their hands out," said Hughes. "And no better time to start is when they are little. They were so excited. They started bringing canned goods in even before it was time to start. I told them in advance we were going to do it and they were ready to bring them in. They were all excited bringing bags in. 'I brought mine! I brought mine!' They were really excited."
Fannie Johnson, the director of LOVE's Kitchen, took time to thank the children and explain to them just how much their gift will help others.
Johnson says that any gift to LOVE's Kitchen is welcome at any time.
